Reports alleging that Houthi rebels bombed underwater internet cables connecting Europe to Asia have been denied by Houthi officials. Israeli media outlets claimed that the cables between Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Djibouti in East Africa were damaged, causing significant disruptions to internet connectivity between Europe and Asia. According to Globes, repair efforts could take up to eight weeks.
However, a Houthi political official speaking to Sputnik refuted these claims, stating that the allegations of attacking internet cables were untrue and that the attacks were not carried out by them.
